I am a scientist, engineer, writer, and educator with a knack for communicating about science with a range of stakeholders, including researchers, funders, students, and the public. I currently write and edit grant proposals, scientific papers, stories, essays, profiles of researchers, and other texts for academic research labs, biotechnology companies, government entities, and professional societies.
I earned my BS, MSE, and PhD in biomedical engineering and materials science at Johns Hopkins University and then completed postdoctoral training in biomedical engineering at University of California, Davis. My research interests include protein chemistry, biological membranes, tissue engineering, and cancer immunology.
I am committed to STEM education and outreach. During graduate school, I studied education and taught multiple college-level courses. As a member of Society of Women Engineers, I frequently volunteer my time to educate and inspire the next generation of young scientists and engineers.
I am currently based in Oxford, England and maintain close ties to the places I’ve called home over the years: Baltimore, Maryland; the Bay Area, California; Colorado; and London, England.
